Photography, for me, is about the expression of the moment. Power, passion, laughter or pain, all captured for a lifetime in a single frame.
I began with dozens of rolls of film and a kitesurf lesson on the beaches of Essaouira (though I went digital more than a few years ago). For me, it is a way to experience life more deeply: to slow down, observe, and truly connect with my environment
Wildlife photography is where that feeling is strongest. Waiting in silence, reading the landscape, and sharing space with animals on their own terms creates moments that are truly unforgettable. There’s a quiet adrenaline in those encounters - a mix of patience and exhilaration that makes each second meaningful - whether a photograph is taken, or not.
That same mindset carries into portraiture, where it’s about connecting with someone and glimpsing their spirit - the split-second where effort, focus, and passion collide.
Thank you,
James
